In
almost 30 years of Dobe show breeding, Candela is the third bitch
we purchased and she is the first one who was imported. In a co-ownership
with Luiz Carlos & Emilia Villas-Bôas (Parsifal Dobes),
she was imported from Argentina to Brasil in the beginning of 2002
and she joined the Charleston family in August of the same year. Although
she is not from our breeding, she is very accustomed in our home and
with our family now, besides she has a wonderful temperament and head-piece,
which are a trade mark in Charleston breeding. Through the comments
bellow about her pedigree, we'll be able to understand better the
dogs related to our breeding program. (*) Ch.Am.Ravenswood Cairo v. Aquarius was grandfather of our top producer "Charlie" and also half-brother to the top Dobe of Brasil of all times, Ch.Charleston Yankee, because both are sired by Ch. Brunswig's Cryptonite "Kafka". (**) Ch.Br.Gipsy Storm Serena v. Henik was the top stud Dobe in Brasil of all times and his most awarded daughter was our Ch. Ornella Charleston. (***) Ch.Am. Soquel's Thunderstorm was sire of great Dobes in the USA like Ch. Soquel's Distant Thunder and many others. Coincidently, his father Ch. Angel's Dark Thunder "Primo" and his grandfather Ch. Teraden's Chocolate Soldier are in our Charlie's pedigree too and her grandmother was a double granddaughter of "Chocolate Soldier". Also in mother's line of "Thunderstorm", Ch. Akela's the Vindicator "Victor" was grand grandfather of Charlie. Victor was sired by "Windwalker", who was also the grandfather of "Kafka" (Top Dobe and stud dog of all times in the US) and "Toro" (Top Dobe in Uruguay of all times), both were bred to Charleston bitches too. In mother's line of Candela's pedigree, most of the dogs were bred by the famous Samurai kennel from Argentina and those dogs are in Lex Luthor's pedigree too, which has Ch. Mariemburg's Sun Hawk 12 times in his 5th and 6th generation. "Sun Hawk" is in Ornella's pedigree many times too and "Lex" is father of 13 champions from our breeding. Through the comments above we may understand better why Candela is so similar in temperament, head and body to our Charleston Dobermanns! |
